Hood River, Oregon
Thursday, July 31, 2014
Saturday-Sunday, August 2-3, 2014
Hood River, long on the sport enthusiasts' map for its incredible Columbia Gorge wind, serves it up in the mountain bike category as well.
There are long and flowing trails, tight and twisty concoctions, jumping opportunities, and entire areas dedicated to bridges and ladders. The terrain is perfect for cross-country and all-mountain riders, and great for freeriders too, as long as they're willing to start the ride with a pedal up or a shuttle.
We'll run our morning skill sessions at the Hood River High School, and then travel to a number of local trails in the afternoons to put our new talents to practice. Options include Whoopdee, Cascade Locks, Dog River, and of course Post Canyon too. There we'll use two different staging areas - Family Man and Binns Hill.
For both our one-day and weekend camp, we'll split into groups according to skill level and area of interest, and definitely work to give everyone just what they want.
Big thanks to the local Trek Dirt Series coaches, the staff at Dakine, and all our Hood River friends for making this camp one of our favorites each year. Big thanks too to the Hood River Area Trail Stewards, as without their work none of us would be able to have nearly as much fun on the trails as we do.
