Calgary, Alberta
Saturday, May 17 – Sunday, May 18
Monday, May 19 (One-Day Camp)
Calgary is home to Canada Olympic Park, a former World Cup venue, and host to numerous provincial and national mountain bike races for years.
We hold our camp at COP because it’s also a dream for nearly anyone wanting to tune up her skills. There’s everything from beginner to advanced descents, heaps of meticulously maintained bridges and log rides, and good opportunities for manageable air.
Plus, there’s some nice classic singletrack right across the road, legendary cross-country racecourses in the East Lands, and plenty of chances to traverse the ski hill for some solid additional practice. Whatever your level, you can learn something new here.
On Saturday for the weekend camp, and on Monday for the one-day camp, we meet downtown at The Bike Shop in the morning for orientation and introductions, head out to COP for our skill and riding sessions, and then return to The Bike Shop at night for maintenance clinics, bike fit, food and drinks. On Sunday for the weekend camp, we start and finish right out at COP.
Other notes on this location:
- For the past three years, the Calgary weekend camp has been the first to sell out. If you’d like to guarantee yourself a spot, register early.
- If you’re a proficient rider looking to focus exclusively on jumps, drops, elevated obstacles, and other advanced technical skills, consider attending the one-day camp. There every participant gets to choose every one of her morning skill sessions, and be able to program her entire camp just as she’d like. Of course this benefit also serves beginner and intermediate riders too …
- Local Rocky Mountain Bicycles rep, Keith Brodsky, plays a big role in these Calgary camps, providing on-site bike maintenance, offering a wealth of information on the Rocky Mountain line, and basically making sure that everyone is as perfectly taken care of as they can possibly be. We’re lucky to have him around, and you will be too.
