Year after year, Calgary has proven to be one of the most popular spots on the schedule. The area has a super active population, the camp benefits from solid on-site support, and the word of mouth that's stemmed from learning all kinds of mountain bike skills has been simply amazing.
We start all our camp mornings at Easter Seals Camp Horizon in Bragg Creek. There we take care of our sign in and demo activities, run our morning skill development sessions, have lunch, and then head out for afternoon rides on the trails just nearby.
Cross-country focused options include Riverview, Pneuma, Moose Packers - Ridgeback and Powder Face - Prairie Link. More downhill focused options, which we'll shuttle, include Brakeless, Toothless, Race of Spades, T-Dub, Jean Guy on the Rocks, and Billy Dog.
Thanks to the Moose Mountain Bike Trail Society and the Calgary Mountain Bike Alliance, the trails are continuously updated and maintained. Pneuma and Ridgeback are two fairly new trails on the XC front, and the DH trails have some improved berms, jumps and technical trail features.
This year we’re offering three Calgary camps -- a women's specific one-day camp on Friday, June 8, a women's specific weekend camp on June 9-10 and, thanks to so many requests, a co-ed one-day camp on Monday, June 11.
No matter which camp you take, you'll be invited to a Saturday evening session of bike maintenance clinics, bike set up opportunities, product discounts, prizes, drinks and snacks at The Bike Shop Central. This will run from 630PM to 8PM and be a fun opportunity for the coaches and participants from all the camps to meet and share stories.
The Bike Shop is offered camp participants 10% off bikes and 15% off parts and accessories at all of their locations throughout the month of June. Bring in your camp registration confirmation to qualify.

Camp Horizon has offered us the chance to stay on site overnight, at a cost of only $45 per person / night. Their Venture Lodge has five rooms of shared accommodation, two separate bathrooms, a communal kitchen, and a common area. Guests will need to bring their own sleeping bags or linens, but can trust they'll wake up to fresh Kicking Horse Coffee each morning. If you'd like more information or if you'd like to book a spot, please email us.
If you'd prefer to stay in an individual guest house or B&B, your best bet is to do an online seach in Bragg Creek, Redwood Meadows, or Priddis. Booking accommodations in Calgary is also an option, as long as you don't mind driving about an hour each morning.
